Having written songs for a number of successful artists in recent years Nate Campany looks sets to garner some of the acclaim himself with a solo project destined for release later this year. Motivated by a love for Scandinavian pop music, Campany is taking to intimate stages across the country to showcase some of his finest work to date with perfectly formed ballads that compliment his delightfully delicate vocal style. Each song boasts wonderful orchestration in tune with lyrics that are both uncomplicated yet evocative lending weight to his charge of making pop music smart again. Armed with a steely desire to succeed you'd expect that ambition to be realised sooner rather than later.

After a hugely successful 2007 - and with an impending new album release - Kelley McRae looks set to blossom still further this summer with her splendid musings on life and love. Stand-out track 'Johnny Cash' has already received notable recognition across these shores but McRae is by no means a one trick pony and, equipped with a vocal style that's both charming and resilient, she looks set to wow audiences with her genial stage presence and ability with the written word. Born in Mississippi, McRae draws on her deep Southern roots to produce Folk-driven songs built with character and poignancy - a truly uplifting experience.

Blessed with a voice so perfectly suited to the times, Alec Gross has managed to capture the illusive folk/country sound so many other artists would sell their soul to find. Inspired by the likes of The Band and Bob Dylan, Gross creates songs of romance and tenderness, each laden with an unerring honesty that will arouse and amaze. With a vocal so reminiscent of Ryan Adams' Whiskeytown days, its Gross' eye for detail that sets him apart from that 'folk crowd'. Backed by an immaculate Bluegrass band that enriches his collection of songs, it's the irony of a love for all things past that looks to have given this New York-based singer/songwriter a very promising future.

Beautifully crafted, melancholic Americana is the order of the day this month and Joe Whyte knows exactly how to deliver. Having established himself as a seamlessly consistent songwriter, Whyte's expressive lyrical ability is more evident than ever in his latest bunch of songs currently being aired to live audiences across the land. His new EP - Devil in the Details - speaks volumes about his tireless endeavour for folk perfection and being likened to certain pre-established stars such as Ryan Adams and Ray Lamontagne, Joe Whyte takes his place somewhere between the two providing engaging and profound ballads for the new Americana generation.
